Overview of position
Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders (IJLCD)
We are seeking an Editor-in-Chief for the IJLCD to co-lead our supportive editorial team from December 2023.
The IJLCD is an international, peer-reviewed journal, which draws together findings from research in language and communication disorders. The IJLCD is published in six issues per year, with occasional special issues.
The role of Editor-in-Chief is a senior leadership position in SLT research. It offers the post-holder the opportunity to lead on strategic and editorial development of the journal, to maximise the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of communication disorders and related SLT activities
The successful candidate for this position will:
- Have a PhD in a relevant academic discipline
- Possess a proven track record in research (peer-reviewed publications, presentations at conferences and/or other research enabling activities)
- Have extensive experience handling peer-review
- Have a working understanding of the changes affecting research publishing and Open Access
- Have experience in leadership and strategic development
- Commit to carrying out the role for a minimum term of three years
Experience as an SLT and membership of the RCSLT are desirable
